LEARN FROM LIFE OF GREAT PEOPLE - Failures are Not Final and They are not Permineant

A candidate for news broadcaster’s post was rejected because of his voice. He was also told that with his obnoxiously long name, he would never be famous.
- He is Amitabh Bachchan.

A small boy – the fifth among seven siblings of a poor father, was selling newspapers in a small village to earn his living. He was not exceptionally smart at school but was fascinated by religion and rockets. The first rocket he built crashed. A missile that he built crashed multiple times and he was made a butt of ridicule. He is the person to have scripted the space Odyssey of India single handedly.
 - He is Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.

In 1962 for nervous musicians played their first record audition for the executives of the Decca Recording Company. The executives were not impressed. While turning down this group of musicians, one executive said “We don’t like their sound. Groups of guitars are on the way out”.

- He said this to Alexander Graham Bell.

In the 1940s another young inventor named Chester Carlson took his idea to 20 corporations, including some of the biggest in the country. They all turned him down. In 1947, after seven longs years of rejection, he finally got a tiny company in New York , the Haloid Company to purchase the rights to his invention – an electrostatic paper copying process.
- Haloid became the XEROX Corporation.

A 4 year old girl, 20th among 22 children, contracted double pneumonia and scarlet fever at a very early age, which paralyzed her left leg. Thereafter at 9 years of age, she removed her leg braces and started walking without them. At 13 she decided to become a runner – but kept failing miserably in all races that she entered in. Some Top Secret Places in the World...!

The world is full of secret and exclusive places that we either don’t know about, or simply couldn’t visit if we wanted to. This list takes a look at ten of the most significant places around the world that are closed to the general public or are virtually impossible for the general public to visit.
So here I have compiled a list of some of the most secretive places on earth. These are the places which you definitely can’t visit easily.
Mezhgorye

Russia’s massive secret underground facility at Yamantau Mountain and the city of Mezhgorye is rumored that the Yamantau Mountain project was associated with the so-called ‘Dead Hand’ nuclear retaliatory command and control system for strategic missiles.

Vatican Secret Archives

Vatican Secret Archives, which are as vast as they are old. Headed by a cardinal like the Vatican Library, another rumored storehouse of secrets, they partially open today to a few approved scholars who are let in only with specific purposes and with permission of the Pope.
Club 33

Since 1967 Disney’s Exclusive Club 33, Walt Disney felt that he needed a special private place where he could entertain sponsors and other guests. After he had died Disney Land decided to make Club 33 open only to special members. As of June 2007, the membership waiting list was 14 years.
Moscow Metro-2

Metro-2 in Moscow, Russia has a secret underground metro system which parallels the public Moscow Metro. It is said to connect the Kremlin with the FSB headquarters, the government airport at Vnukovo-2. In the late 1940s Stalin had created the tunnels in the event of a nuclear war.

Room 39 is believed to be located inside a ruling Workers’ Party building in Pyongyang.
Ise Grand Shrine

The Ise Grand Shrine which is located in Japan is considered arguably one of the most sacred, holiest and important places in Japan. Shrine is demolished and Rebuilt once every twenty years. The only people who are able to access the shrine are the Japanese imperial family and the high priestesses and priests.
Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center

Just 46 miles from Washington DC, a mysterious and secretive underground military base exists, located deep inside a mountain near the rural town of Bluemont, Virginia. Said to be equipped with all amenities of life. In the event of nuclear war, declaration of martial law, or other national emergency, the President, his cabinet and the rest of the Executive Branch would be “relocated” to Mount Weather.

Steve JOBS Remembered

Such a great and eminent personality "STEVE JOBS"

Jobs was born February 24, 1955, to two University of Wisconsin graduate students who gave him up for adoption. Smart but directionless, Jobs experimented with different pursuits before starting Apple Computers with Stephen Wozniak in the Jobs' family garage.

While Jobs has always been an intelligent and innovative thinker, his youth was riddled with frustrations over formal schooling. In elementary school he was a prankster whose fourth grade teacher needed to bribe him to study. Jobs tested so well, however, that administrators wanted to skip him ahead to high school—a proposal his parents declined.

After he did enroll in high school, Jobs spent his free time at Hewlett-Packard. It was there that he befriended computer club guru Steve Wozniak. Wozniak was a brilliant computer engineer, and the two developed great respect for one another.

After high school, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Lacking direction, he dropped out of college after six months and spent the next 18 months dropping in on creative classes. Jobs later recounted how one course in calligraphy developed his love of typography.

In 1974, Jobs took a position as a video game designer with Atari.

Jobs and Wozniak are credited with revolutionizing the computer industry by democratizing the technology and making the machines smaller, cheaper, intuitive, and accessible to everyday consumers. The two conceived a series of user-friendly personal computers that they initially marketed for $666.66 each. Their first model, the Apple I, earned them $774,000. Three years after the release of their second model, the Apple II, sales increased 700 percent to $139 million dollars. In 1980, Apple Computer became a publically traded company with a market value of $1.2 billion on the very first day of trading. Jobs looked to marketing expert John Scully of Pepsi-Cola to help fill the role of Apple's President.

Ethical Values for Business Success

Look behind successful, honest businesses and you will see a set of values that have stood the test of time. Think about how these values are communicated in your organization and what you can do to support them.

Honesty. The old adage, "honesty is the best policy" is true today more than ever. It's not just lip service.

Integrity. Integrity connotes strength and stability. It means taking the high road by practicing the highest ethical standards.

Responsibility. Blaming others, claiming victimhood, or passing the buck may solve short-term crises, but refusal to take responsibility erodes respect and cohesion in an organization. Ethical people take responsibility for their actions.

Quality. Quality should be more than making the best product, but should extend to every aspect of your work.

Trust. There's no free ride. Trust is hard to earn and even harder to get back after you've lost it. Everyone who comes in contact with you or your company must have trust and confidence in how you do business.

Respect. Respect is more than a feeling, but a demonstration of honor, value, and reverence for something or someone.

Teamwork. Two or more employees together make a team. It is a business necessity to work openly and supportively in teams whether formal or informal.

The real test of these values comes from the resulting action. It takes a concerted, company-wide effort, beyond inserting these words in an employee manual, to make it happen.

Meaning & Significance of N.A.V.A.R.A.T.R.I

As per Indian Vedic Astrology nine planets are (1) Ravi (Sun), (2) Chandra (Moon), (3) Mangal/Bhaum (Mars), (4) Budha (Mercury), (5) Guru/Bruhaspati (Jupiter), (6) Shukra (Venus), (7) Shani (Saturn), (8) Rahu (North Node) & (9) Ketu (South Node).

Human body has nine openings (1) 2 for seeing - Chakshu (Eyes), (2) 2 for hearing - Karna (Ears), (3) 2 for breathing - Nasika (Nostrils), (4) 1 for speech & eating – Mouth, (5) 1 for Malotsarjan - Anus & (6) 1 for Mutrotsarjan – urinary opening.
If the planets favor & all the openings of the human body are kept under proper control, the human life is bound to be a great success.

Navaratri means "nine nights", which we must use to seek blessings from the nine planets and control our openings.  In the worship of the goddesses during Navaratri, one of the planets should be worshipped & one of the openings should be cleaned each day, not externally but with heart, mind and soul focused. Bodily actions are ephemeral. The body derives its value from the spirit within. Hence it should be regarded as a sacred temple.

Navaratri festival is observed ten days, out of which nine for cleansing one's self of all impurities, in order to experience the divinity within & the last day is dedicated to "worship of weapons (Aayudha Pooja). The weapons to be worshipped are the divine powers & virtues within. When the divine is worshipped in this way, one is bound to progress spiritually.

Importance of Vijaya Dashami day as per Hindu Mythology:
It is on this day that in Tretayuga, Sri Ramachandra killed Ravana. Sriramachandra with the assistance of Kapi Sainya, under the able leadership of Sugreeva and Hanuman, invaded Lanka and killed Ravana, Kumbhakarna and brought back Seeta devi, who was kidnapped by Ravana. To commemorate the divine event, people all over the country celebrate the day by burning the huge effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna (brother of Ravana) & Meghanad (son of Ravana).
Another legend has it that Durgamaata (Mahishasuramardhini or Chamundeswari) killed Mahishasura on this day. Mahishasura – a demon with the head of a buffalo and body of human – had created havoc on the earth and had defeated the demigods and unleashed the rule of Adharma. To restore Dharma, Goddess Shakti appeared as Durga. She fought Mahisha and numerous demons for nine days and on the tenth day she killed Mahisha. From then onwards the day is celebrated as Vijaya Dasami.
Another legend suggests that Arjuna in the Mahabharat during the last year of exile period took back his weapons on this day and fought against Kauravas to defend the Virata kingdom.

How Anti-Lock Brakes Work

Stopping a car in a hurry on a slippery road can be very challenging. Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) take a lot of the challenge out of this sometimes nerve-wracking event. In fact, on slippery surfaces, even professional drivers can't stop as quickly without ABS as an average driver can with ABS.

In this article, the last in a six-part series on brakes, we'll learn all about anti-lock braking systems -- why you need them, what's in them, how they work, some of the common types and some associated problems.

There are four main components to an ABS system:

Speed sensors
Pump
Valves
Controller

Why Orange ?

Orange is vibrant. It's a combination of red and yellow so it shares some common attributes with those colors. It denotes energy, warmth, and the sun. But orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow.

As a warm color orange is a stimulant — stimulating the emotions and even the appetite.

Delhi Bomb Blasts

Who are the responsible for our Brothers / Sisters Death ...
Terrorism is the greatest threat for emerging India and it will become major impediment on the way of becoming super power. As the citizen of India we can not always say that by becoming tolerant to terrorism will not solve our purpose. We have to fight against that. The whole world is seeing that India is booming. We will face many obstacles to maintain our growth.
There should be a punishment to the people who involved in such kind of actions.    That should be a social justice ...

My Views On JAVA

JAVA BACKGROUND
·         Write once – Run Any Where
·         There are 4.5 Billion JVM-Enabled Devices are there.
·         One of the first projects developed using Java a personal hand-held remote control named Star 7.

JAVA IS NOT A PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE? IT’S A TECHNOLOGY.
What is Java Technology?
The Java technology is:
·         A programming language
·         A development environment
·         An application environment
·         A deployment environment

FEATURES OF JAVA
1. Java Virtual Machine (JVM)
·         JVM Runs Byte code which is nothing but the intermediate language.
·         provides the hardware platform specifications to which you compile all Java technology code.
2.  Bytecode (AN INTERMEDIATE LANGUAGE)
-a special machine language that can be understood by the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
-independent of any particular computer hardware, so any computer with a Java interpreter can execute the compiled Java program, no matter what type of computer the program was compiled on.
3.  Garbage collection thread
·         Responsible for freeing any memory that can be freed. This happens automatically during the lifetime of the Java program.
·         Programmer is freed from the burden of having to deallocate that memory themselves.
4.  JRE
·         Runs code compiled for a JVM and performs :
o   Class loading (through the class loader)
o   code verification (through the bytecode verifier)
o   and finally code execution.

5.  Class Loader
·         Responsible for loading all classes needed for the Java program.
·         After loading all the classes, the memory layout of the executable is then determined. This adds protection against unauthorized access to restricted areas of the code since the memory layout is determined during runtime.
6.  Bytecode verifier
·         Tests the format of the code fragments and checks the code fragments for illegal code that can violate access rights to objects.
7. Java is Secured.
·         Because it uses sand box technology
o   Sand Box :   Sandbox is Norman's technology for detecting new unknown viruses and malware, using a safe virtual environment inside your computer, where the viruses are allowed to reveal themselves without damaging your system.    The memory requirement is about 4 MB pr. scanning thread

A DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT
As a development environment, Java technology provides you with a large suite of tools:
·         A compiler (javac)
·         An interpreter (java)
·         A documentation generator (javadoc)
·         A class file packaging tooland so on...

SIMPLE JAVA PROGRAM.
WHAT IS SYSTEM.OUT.PRINTLN()?
·         System  class has field out of type PrintStream  class
·         println()  is a  method in PrintStream class.

COMMENTS IN JAVA
3 Types of comments in Java
·         C++ Style Comments  (//)
·         C Style Comments (/* */)
·         Special Javadoc Comments (/**    */)

COMMAND-LINE ARGUMENTS
·         A Java application can accept any number of arguments from the command-line.
·         The user enters command-line arguments when invoking the application and specifies them after the name of the class to run.
o   public static void main( String[] args )
